Die anglikanische Kirche in Istanbul

Lord Stratford Canning legte 1856 den Grundstein für diese anglikanische Kirche (auch bekannt als Krimkirche) . Sie wurde zum Gedenken an die englischen Soldaten erbaut , die am Krimkrieg teilnahmen, und von Sultan Abdülmecid ( 1823–1861 ) gestiftet.

Die anglikanische Kirche in Istanbul

Die Kirche ist vollständig aus Stein erbaut und im neugotischen Stil gehalten, inspiriert von Malta. (Ein wunderschönes Ausflugsziel nach Ihrem Istanbul-Besuch!) Aufgrund sinkender Gemeindezahlen wurde die Kirche 1971 geschlossen und 1991 unter der Leitung eines anglikanischen Priesters von sri-lankischen Flüchtlingen für Gottesdienste wiedereröffnet .
