Lord Stratford Canning colocó los cimientos de esta iglesia anglicana (también conocida como Iglesia de Crimea) en 1856. Fue construida en memoria de los soldados ingleses que participaron en la Guerra de Crimea y fue financiada por el sultán Abdülmecid ( 1823-1861 ).

La iglesia anglicana en estambul

La iglesia está construida completamente en piedra y presenta un estilo arquitectónico neogótico inspirado en Malta. (¡Un destino encantador después de tu viaje a Estambul!). La iglesia cerró sus puertas en 1971 debido a la disminución de su congregación y fue reabierta en 1991 por refugiados de Sri Lanka bajo el liderazgo de un sacerdote de la Iglesia Anglicana para la celebración de servicios religiosos.
