Iglesia Asiria de la Virgen María

Se encuentra en la calle Karakurum, en el distrito de Tarlabaşı de Beyoğlu. La comunidad asiria adquirió el terreno donde se construyó la iglesia en el siglo XIX . Según fuentes armenias, allí existió una iglesia entre 1650 y 1780. La iglesia fue reconstruida el 6 de septiembre de 1863 y se inauguró para la celebración de servicios religiosos, siendo utilizada tanto por armenios como por asirios como lugar de culto común. En 1870 , la iglesia sufrió graves daños en un incendio y fue restaurada y renovada en profundidad en 1878.

El antiguo edificio de la iglesia fue demolido en 1961 y posteriormente reconstruido y reabierto para servicios religiosos en una ceremonia especial ese mismo año . Es un elegante ejemplo de mampostería al estilo de la ciudad de Mardin , ubicada en el sureste de Turquía. Esta maestría se aprecia especialmente en los capiteles de las columnas ornamentadas. Además del templo, hay un anexo que alberga una escuela dominical y una sección administrativa.
