About

Blue Mosque
The Blue Mosque, also known as the Sultanahmet Mosque, is one of Istanbul’s most beautiful and important landmarks. What makes it so special is not just its beauty, but also its unique features. For example, it is the first mosque with 6 minarets. The Blue Mosque is not just a tourist attraction but an active mosque, so it is closed to visitors during prayer times.

Basilica Cistern
Istanbul is full of hidden ancient sites, and one of the most interesting ones is the Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Cistern). It’s a unique and popular place to visit, located near Hagia Sophia.

To enter the cistern, you go down a 52-step staircase. Inside, there are 336 columns, each 9 meters high. The cistern is built with thick walls to hold water and can store up to 100,000 tons of water! It’s hard to believe until you see it in person.

Hagia Sophia
Hagia Sophia was originally built as a cathedral by Emperor Justinian in 532 AD. Later, it became a mosque and is now a symbol of the meeting of Byzantine and Ottoman cultures. The large dome and beautiful mosaics show the rich history of this building. Today, as a mosque, it remains a symbol of Istanbul's past and invites visitors to appreciate its beauty and spiritual atmosphere.

Grand Bazaar
The Grand Bazaar has 22 gates and 60 streets, with almost 4,000 shops inside. If you find it a bit tricky to navigate, start at the Beyazit Gate, where you’ll find jewelry shops along Kalpakcilar Street. From here, you can reach the main entrance on Nuruosmaniye Street, where there are many interesting shops.
