What is Flameworking?
Flameworking is a captivating technique where glass rods, typically made of Effetre glass, are melted using a torch that reaches temperatures of up to 1200 degrees Celsius. This technique, also known as "lampworking," dates back to the time when people used oil lamps or candles to melt glass before modern torches were developed.
Event Details:
During this hands-on workshop, participants will enjoy a coffee while the artist explains the flameworking technique, introduces the necessary tools, and provides an overview of the materials. After two demonstration sessions, you will have the chance to select the shape, style, and colors for your own piece, inspired by a variety of samples.
Once you're ready, you'll put on your aprons and protective glasses, and start creating your piece with the artist’s guidance. This is where the fun begins as you transform glass from solid to liquid, using heat to shape it into your design.
Final Touches:
Once your work is complete, it will be safely cooled in a heat blanket before being handed back to you. Now comes the exciting part: turning your glass beads into jewelry! With the help of accessories and hand tools, you'll create a unique piece of glass art that you can wear or gift to someone special.
Experience the endless creativity of melting glass, and leave with a beautiful, handcrafted creation that’s truly your own.
