With over 4,000 shops and more than 500 years of history, the Grand Bazaar is one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world. Originally built in the 15th century, it has grown into a sprawling maze of vibrant alleys, where you’ll find everything from handwoven carpets and gold jewelry to spices, antiques, ceramics, and traditional crafts that reflect the heart of Istanbul’s culture.

    Keep an eye out for

As you explore, keep an eye out for peaceful courtyards, centuries-old domes, and small workshops where traditional crafts are still made today. While some parts of the bazaar are bustling with visitors and shops catering to tourists, others remain quiet and full of authentic local character. The audio guide will help you notice these contrasts and appreciate the hidden layers of the bazaar.
