Very convenient combo. The Topkapi host gave us a useful introduction before entry, and we liked having the freedom to explore both Dolmabahce and Hagia Sophia at our own pace.
We split the visits across two days and that worked perfectly. Topkapi needs a lot of time, while Dolmabahce was easier to enjoy slowly without following a group.
Dolmabahce Palace was beautiful and much more European in style than Topkapi. Seeing both palaces in the same package made the difference really interesting.
A great combination if you want to see different sides of Ottoman and Byzantine Istanbul. We especially enjoyed the contrast between Topkapi and Dolmabahce.

Your guide will be waiting for you in front of the Fountain of Sultan Ahmed III at least 15 minutes before the tour starts, holding a a white flag with the Istanbul Tourist Pass® and istanbul.com logos. From there, your guide will take you on a short 1-minute walk to the main entrance gate (Bab-ı Hümayun) of Topkapi Palace.

Hagia Sophia is open for half a day on the first day of Ramadan and Sacrifice Festivals.
