A really good mix of Ottoman and Byzantine history. Dolmabahce feels completely different from Hagia Sophia, and the Cistern was a great atmospheric stop in between.
We split the attractions across two days and that was perfect. Hagia Sophia and the Cistern are close together, while Dolmabahce needs more time and transport.
Great option if you prefer exploring on your own. We spent the morning at Dolmabahce and later visited Hagia Sophia and the Cistern around Sultanahmet.
Dolmabahce Palace was beautiful and much bigger than I expected. We spent almost two hours there and appreciated not having a fixed guide schedule.
