Ekim was excellent with questions and never made us feel rushed. She explained the different historical periods in a way that actually made sense, even if you know very little about Istanbul before coming.
We did this on our first day and it was a great decision. Ekim was warm, clear and very easy to follow. By the end of the walk we understood how the main sights around Sultanahmet connect to each other.
Our guide gave us several practical tips about what to visit afterwards and where it was better to come back early because of crowds. That was almost as useful as the history itself.
I liked the pace. Ninety minutes was enough to get a sense of the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the surrounding area without spending the whole morning on a tour.
