В период правления Кануни в Стамбуле было построено множество архитектурных сооружений . Архитектурные работы этого периода, особенно работы Мимара Синана ( архитектора Синана ), придали городу совершенно новый облик. Среди наиболее значимых можно отметить: мечеть Сулеймание и окружающий её комплекс, мечеть Шехзадебаши и окружающий её комплекс, мечеть Султана Селима и окружающий её комплекс, мечеть Джихангир , мечети, построенные в честь Михримах Султан в Эдирнекапы и Ускюдаре, а также окружающий её комплекс Хасеки и баню Хасеки , построенные по заказу Хюррем Султан.

В одном отношении были предотвращены новые миграции, а также было запрещено строительство домов вокруг стен, и было обязательно, чтобы в каждом доме были ставни на окнах, а в каждом здании в Галате должна была использоваться каменная конструкция.
