Located between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, this famous hammam was built in the 16th century by order of Hurrem Sultan (Roxelana), the beloved wife of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.

Attention: Hurrem Sultan Hammam will close at 8:00 PM on December 31, 2024. The last Pir-u Pak reservation on that day will be at 7:00 PM. The Hammam will reopen on January 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM.

Location

Hurrem Sultan Hammam is between Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. You can reach it by tram (T1 line, Sultanahmet stop), metro (M2 to T1), or bus (Sultanahmet Square stop). It’s also a short walk from the main attractions.

Know Before You Go

  • For safety reasons, guests with heart or breathing problems, pregnant women, and those menstruating cannot use the services.
  • Children under 6 are not allowed in the hammam.
  • Guests 15 and older can use the hammam and massages if with an adult of the same gender.
  • Guests 6 to 15 can use the hammam, but not the massages.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment.
  • You don’t need to bring anything. Everything will be provided.

Hurrem Sultan Hammam

The Hurrem Sultan Hammam is a beautiful building designed by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. It was built in the 16th century by order of Hurrem Sultan, the wife of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Located between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, it is a symbol of the grand architecture of the time. The hammam has separate areas for men and women and is a perfect blend of history and luxury.
