Full Description
Our tour will begin at the Yedikule Fortress Dungeons, an Ottoman State Prison where foreign diplomats were imprisoned when the Ottoman Empire was at war with their countries. Even Sultan Osman II was imprisoned and executed there. You'll hear lots of stories about the Dungeon's history from your expert guide.
Continuing on, you'll see the cemetery of controversial Turkish "Orthodox Patriarchs", the miraculous "life-giving spring" at Ayazma of Balikli and other churches. Our walk from Yedikule Fortress, to Belgrade Gate to Silivri Gate will also take us past some works of the famous Ottoman architect, Mimar Sinan.

All the walls from this point needs maintenance and some security, but it was a nice experience to walk around the walls and feel the historical atmosphere.
Impressive structures! I felt the history in my bones!
It s a good idea to visit this old and long wall. I think they are the most authentic historical artifacts.
