Full Description
Calling all coffee-lovers...this tour is for you!
Coffee has held a very important place in Turkish culture ever since the Ottomans brought the first coffee beans to Istanbul in 1519. In Turkey, people often drink Turkish tea with their breakfast and Turkish coffee afterward. Similarly, they will often eat their dinner and dessert, and then have a Turkish coffee to finish. It can also be a much-needed pick-me-up in the afternoon!
On this tour, we will begin with 'The Coffee Route' and taste coffee in various historical venues. Next, we will visit Haci Bekir Confectioner, a company that has made traditional sweets, including delicious Turkish delight, since 1777. At the end of the tour, you'll take part in a Turkish coffee-making workshop and even get a certificate to prove you're a certified 'Turkish Coffee Maker'.
