Troy & Gallipoli in Depth Tour (Anzac & Helles) 2 Days 1 Night

This is a 2-day tour from Istanbul to Troy and Gallipoli with 1 overnight stay in a hotel (B&B). 

On the first day of the tour, we will head to the ancient city of Troy. You will hear the interesting history of the Trojan War and stories from Greek mythology. See the ancient city and temple ruins and marvel at the The Odeon with its capacity for 1,500 spectators.

On the second day, we'll head to Gallipoli. Gallipoli is a few hours drive from Istanbul and is the site of a famous battle between the Allies (particularly soldiers from Australia and New Zealand, called ANZACs) and Turks in World War I as part of the Allied campaign to capture Constantinople. Unfortunately, it was a disaster for the Allies with more than 60,000 soldiers killed, including 10,880 ANZACs, and many thousands wounded. Although victorious, the Ottomans also suffered great losses with an estimated 85,000 soldiers killed. 

It's a sombre journey but deeply moving and powerful. Your guide will take you to key battle locations and the many memorials to fallen ANZACS and Turkish soldiers where you'll learn about the great sacrifices they made for their countries.

DAY 1 
06.00 - Pick-up from hotels in the Taksim area
06.30 - Pick-up from hotels in Sultanahmet and transfer to Eceabat
12:00 - Arrive in Eceabat and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant
13.00 - Depart for fully guided tour of Troy visiting:
• The Trojan Horse
• Sacrificial altars
• The 3,700 year-old city walls
• Houses of Troy I, 3000 B.C. - 2500 B.C.
• The Bouleuterium (Senate Building)
• The Odeon (Concert Hall)
• Current excavations in progress
• Remains of the various cities from Troy I through to Troy IX
17.30 - Arrive at hotel (B&B) and check-in (3-star, 4-star and 5-star options available)

DAY 2
07.45 - Depart from hotel for fully guided Helles sector tour visiting:
