Take this 2-day, 1-night tour to learn more about Turkey's history and famous battlefields.
The first day of the tour will be to Gallipoli. The name means "Beautiful City" but unfortunately, the area of Gallipoli in Turkey does not have a beautiful history. It was the site of a famous battle between the Allies (particularly soldiers from Australia and New Zealand, called ANZACs) and Turks in World War I as part of the Allied campaign to capture Constantinople. Unfortunately, it was a disaster for the Allies with more than 60,000 soldiers killed, including 10,880 ANZACs, and many thousands wounded. Although victorious, the Ottomans also suffered great losses with an estimated 85,000 soldiers killed. Your guide will show you many important sites from the battle and the Turkish and ANZAC memorials dedicated to those who lost their lives during the Gallipoli Campaign.
On the second day of the tour, you will go snorkelling at the ANZAC Commemorative Site at North Beach to see the sunken British steamer, 'Milo', which today is home to a variety of sea life.

DAY 1
06.00 Pick-up from hotels in Taksim
06.30 Pick-up from hotels in Sultanahmet and transfer to Eceabat
12:00 Arrive in Eceabat & have lunch at a local restaurant
13.00 Depart from Eceabat for fully guided Gallipoli tour visiting:
• Brighton Beach
• Beach Cemetery
• ANZAC Cove, Ariburnu Cemetery
• ANZAC Commemorative Site
• Respect to Mehmetcik Statue
• Lone Pine Australian Memorial
• Johnston's Jolly (Turkish and Allied trenches and tunnels)

18.00 The tour ends and you will be dropped at your hotel (B&B) for check-in (3 star, 4 star and 5 star options available)
DAY 2
9.30 We will drive to the ANZAC Commemorative Site at North Beach. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit, beach towel, flip flops and sun cream! We will provide you with the mask, snorkel and fins. We will snorkel to a steamer called 'Milo' which was sunk in 1915.
12.00 Back to Eceabat for free time
18.00 Depart for Istanbul
23.00 Arrive in Istanbul and be returned to your hotel OR Day / Overnight bus to Izmir / Selcuk / Kusadasi / Cappadocia can be arranged
