Day 1
The day begins with a hotel pickup early in the morning. You will be driven to Istanbul Airport in comfort for your flight to Nevsehir Airport. When you arrive in Nevsehir, you will be greeted by our driver holding a sign with your name on it. Then the real tour can begin!
The first stop is Devrent Vadisi which means “Imagination Valley”. The incredible Fairy Chimney landscape will make you feel like you're on another planet! There are amazing double and triple-headed rock formations to see there, too. Lunch will be Testi Kebabı which is an authentic Turkish beef dish cooked in a clay pot, roughly translated to "Pottery Beef". Next, you'll see the Kızılırmak which is the Red River. After the river, you'll arrive right in the heart of Cappadocia at the Göreme Open Air Museum.
At the Göreme Open Air Museum, there are original wall paintings from as early as the 10th century and many rock-cut churches. You'll hear lots of interesting stories about this area from your guide. Our last stop of the day will be Uchisar Castle which is a staggering 1,350 metres tall. The first day of your tour will finish at around sunset when you will be taken to a hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 2
Your second day of amazing sightseeing in Cappadocia will start with Kızıl Vadi or "Red Valley". You will explore the famous churches that have been carved into the rock and then walk amongst the breathtaking fairy chimneys. After your 4 km walk (it won't feel that far with such stunning scenery to look at!), you will arrive at a Greek village called Cavusin. Cavusin has the biggest cave church in the region, the church of St John the Baptist.
After a stop for lunch, we'll head to the biggest underground city, Kaymaklı. From there, we continue on to Pigeon Valley which is famous for its dovecotes. The final stop of the day will be Ortahisar Castle, which has a stunning panoramic view over the region as it's the highest point in Ortahisar.
At the end of a wonderful second day, you'll be taken to the airport for your flight back to Istanbul. In Istanbul, we'll have another friendly member of our team ready and waiting to take you back to your hotel.
Please ask if pick-up is available from your hotel. Please note that Cappadocia can be much colder than Istanbul, especially in the winter, so check the weather before you go and ensure that you pack appropriate clothing and footwear.
