Full Description

Would you be interested in eating like a local?
Let's join a tour that you can taste the best-known foods and drinks of Turkish Cuisine. You will have a chance to meet local people and learn about their lifestyle. We will start the tour with a "Simit" which is a traditional Turkish bakery. Simit is a bread roll that is covered with grape molasses and sesame seeds. After we take our Simits, we will visit a very unique local place "kıraathane" which means reading rooms, but it is a place where lots of men with mustaches playing cards or backgammon while drinking tea.
Later on, we will be drinking our traditional Turkish tea in traditional "incebelli" tea glasses, and we will move on to "Ocakbaşı". It is the name of the traditional self-service barbeque restaurant. You can sit by the fire and grill your kebabs, along with a glass of Turkish Raki which is a traditional alcoholic beverage.              Finally, we will end up in a "Meyhane" which is a traditional saloon. We will drink "Rakı" and taste "Meze" which means appetizers. Locals eat Meze with Rakı while listening to live Turkish Arabesque Music performed by Gipsy Musicians. We said finally, but night will continue... with the Turkish way! If you feel like being sated with Turkish Rakı, let’s handle it in a Turkish way. We will drink a traditional "İşkembe Çorbası", which is Tripe Soup which is followed by an amazing cup of Turkish Coffee.

Last month the bakery on my home s street began to do this Simit thing. It was delicious but this is more. Last year i was in Izmir for vacation. I ate there as well. But they called this with different name. And the indispensable taste; kebap. Hmmm..
