Full Description

Day 1
In the morning, our driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the bus station where you will take the bus to Nevsehir. When you arrive there, another member of our friendly team will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name on it. Then your tour will really begin!

The first stop will be Devrent Vadisi which means “Imagination Valley”. The incredible Fairy Chimney landscape will make you feel like you're on another planet! There are amazing double and triple-headed rock formations, too. Lunch will be Testi Kebabı which is an authentic Turkish beef dish cooked in a clay pot, roughly translated to "Pottery Beef". Next, you'll see the Kızılırmak which is the Red River. After the river, you'll arrive right in the heart of Cappadocia at the Göreme Open Air Museum.

At the Göreme Open Air Museum, there are original wall paintings dating back to the 10th century and many rock-cut churches. You'll hear lots of interesting stories about this area from your guide. Our last stop of the day will be Uchisar Castle which is a staggering 1,350 metres tall. At around sunset, the tour will finish for the day and you will be taken to a hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2
Your second day of amazing sightseeing in Cappadocia will start with Kızıl Vadi, meaning "Red Valley". You will explore the famous churches carved into the rock and then walk amongst the breathtaking fairy chimneys. After your 4 km walk (it won't feel that far with such stunning scenery to look at!), you will arrive at a Greek village called Cavusin to see wonderful cave churches and learn about its rich Christian history.

After a stop for lunch, we'll head to the biggest underground city, Kaymaklı. From there, we continue on to Pigeon Valley which is famous for its dovecotes. The final stop of the day will be Ortahisar Castle, which has a stunning panoramic view over the region as it's the highest point in Ortahisar. After such a busy day, it will be time to recharge! You'll be transferred to your hotel again for your last overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 3
On your last day, we'll visit the deepest underground city in the region, Derinkuyu. From there, we'll continue on to Ihlara Valley in Aksaray province which is like a small version of the Grand Canyon! After hiking around the area about 4 kms, we'll stop for lunch near the lovely Melendiz River. You will be able to taste authentic foods that reflect the culinary history and culture of the locals.

The last stop will be Selime Cathedral, sometimes referred to as a monastery, and the giant Fairy Chimney in Selime. What a day, what a trip!

After all this adventure, it will be time to head to the bus station for your return to Istanbul. When you arrive in Istanbul, you will be greeted by another friendly member of our team and driven back to your hotel.

It was not available for us. Old couples have to choose this tour with flight. Long way.

An interesting place. Residential was different than Istanbul. No big apartments, smal houses. Especially caves were interesting.

Shawn - February 28, 2019

Ihlara Valley took me aways. A natural beauty. Selime Monastery was effected so much.
