5 Days in Istanbul Itinerary
Back on the track with our beautiful wonderful city. Istanbul our big city is a huge city and has many places to go around and a lot to do in. in this article, I am going to plan a 5-days plan about what to do and where to go around Istanbul to use your precious time the best. 5 days are very good to visit the most amazing places all around the city and get to know the city closer.
Day one; a walk into history:
Normally the tourists start their day at their hotel having the Turkish breakfast in some hotel in Taksim, Beyoğlu. After you are ready, I recommend to go directly to Sultan Ahmet Square and visit its 2 amazing main buildings, Sultan Ahmet Mosque is known as the Blue Mosque, it is a historic mosque located in Istanbul Turkey, it has a lot of attraction of a large number of tourists. It was built between 1609 and 1616, Hand-painted blue tiles adorn the mosque’s interior walls, and at night the mosque is bathed in blue as lights frame the mosque’s five main domes, six minarets, and eight secondary domes. It sits next to the Hagia Sophia, another popular tourist site. Hagia Sophia. Basilica is another main museum in Sultan Ahmet Square, it is the former Greek Orthodox Christian patriarchal cathedral, later an Ottoman imperial mosque and now a museum (Ayasofya Müzesi) in Istanbul, Turkey. It was built in AD 537 before the middle ages, it is considered the empire of Byzantine architecture. It served as Eastern Orthodox Cathedral, get converted to a Roman Catholic, and then to an Ottoman mosque. It remained the world’s largest cathedral for nearly a thousand years until Seville Cathedral was completed in 1520.
After you are done you might have your lunch at Sultan Ahmet Koftecisi and walk around the covered market at Beyazid.
Day two; a day of joy:
Day two is mainly based in Taksim, start your day at the main Square and have some pictures with the Independence statue there. After that head directly to Istiklal Avenue, you might try to get and try the Nostalgic Tramway; a big symbol of Turkey and Istanbul, or you can consider walking into the many shops and brands for some shopping. At the end of Istiklal Avenue you will end up at Galata Tower, an ancient tower built many years before. You can get a ticket to go up the tower and have a look at the amazing 360-view at the Bosphorus and the old town at the same time. The end of the night is going to be having some fun in a bar that has some live music, or a casino that can be found easily epically in Taksim.
Day three; To the Seashore
On day three I recommend you go through the funicular from Taksim Square to Kabataş directly. You can walk side by side on the seashore from Kabataş arriving at Beşiktaş. An amazing modern natural log walk is going to be! You will pass by Dolmabahçe Palace and Yildiz Park which are very ancient amazing places to visit. If you still having fun, you might continue walking arriving at Ortaköy, the amazing thing about it is the direct view at the Bosphorus where you can take some memorable pictures. The most famous thing there is the small shops filled with Kumpir and waffles, which you can have it there or on the go! A pretty amazing experience to try!
Day Four: away to nature
After you pass some time in Istanbul you will feel the urge for relaxation, get a ticket to Şile and Ağva, these two towns are close to Istanbul (around 115 KM). Şile and Ağva have amazing views on the Black Sea in the north, you can have amazing seafood there and enjoy the amazing road toward the towns.
Day Five: Bursa!
Bursa has a lot of attention from all the tourists who visit Istanbul because it is close (around 350 KM) and have the Uludağ Mountain in addition to the reputation of its Uludağ Chairlifts. Uludağ Chairlifts are considered one of the world’s longest chairlifts because it has a distance of 9 KM between the city arriving at the edge of Uludağ Mountain. At Uludağ, you have plenty of things to do, it has skiing, restaurants, coffees, bars and more. Going there takes one day and you won’t feel the time but don’t worry, Uludağ has hotels as well so you will not be left over there.
